Petwidge

Privacy Policy

Last updated · June 16, 2026
The short version. Petwidge turns a photo you choose into a pixel-art pet that lives in your widgets. To make the art, your selected photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service and to Google's Gemini AI, which returns the sprite. We don't store your photos on our servers after processing, we never use them to train AI models, and we never sell your data. There are no accounts and no ad tracking.

This policy explains what Petwidge ("we," "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Petwidge iOS app and its widgets.

What we process

How your photo is handled

Before your first creation, Petwidge shows a consent screen naming Google Gemini and explaining that the photo is sent to create your pet. Generation only happens after you agree.

What lives on your device

Your generated sprites, pet names, and related details are stored on your device and in a private app group shared with the Petwidge widgets so your pet can appear on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Dynamic Island. This data stays on your device unless you choose to create a new pet (which triggers a new generation as described above).

Your choices

Children

Petwidge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us a photo, contact us and we will help.

Security

Photos are sent over encrypted connections. Because creation is on-demand and transient on our side, there is no long-term photo store to breach. No method of transmission is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect the limited data we handle.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
